Margins Improve Despite Input Costs:
EBITDA before exceptional items stood at ₹1,049 million and margins improved by 166 basis points YoY to 12.1%.
Gross margin also increased to 45.6% helped by a positive product mix and disciplined pricing strategies which offset increased input costs.
The performance was driven by the premiumisation and the company’s occasion-led demand creation model, said Chitrank Goel, Deputy Managing Director.
Product Innovation Drives Growth:
Product innovation continued to be a key driver of growth with Kwality Wall’s India launching over 31 new products and renovations in the first half of the year.
The premium additions were Magnum Caramel Pop, Magnum Pistachio and Cornetto Almond Crunch.
The company also launched a strategic overhaul of its In-home portfolio, moving products to a dairy-based “Made with Milk” formulation. Launch of New Flavours like Hawaiian Nut Sundae, Kesar Bhog also contributed to double digit growth to the segment.

Quick Commerce and Modern Trade Gain Momentum:
Quick Commerce and Modern Trade were double-digit growth contributors in the quarter and have emerged as important channels for premium formats including the expanded Kulfeez range.
In General Trade, the company grew its physical footprint with more freezer cabinet deployments.
Standalone investments for transition in talent, technology and organisational infrastructure are expected to keep near-term operating costs elevated, Kwality Wall’s India said in a post-results statement. Management, however, restated its focus on volume-led growth and continued omnichannel expansion as the business moves forward.
