Myntra Cuts Product Time-to-Market by 40% With Generative AI Integration

Fashion e-commerce platform Myntra has reduced its product time-to-market by 40% in the past year by embedding generative AI across its software development and operational workflows.

The Flipkart-owned company said AI is now integrated across several functions including customer discovery, seller onboarding, catalogue management and engineering operations. Adoption of AI has led to faster product development, faster roll-out of new features as well as better execution across the business.

One of the biggest improvements has been in seller enablement. Myntra has slashed seller onboarding timelines from 10-15 days to less than two days and catalogue generation time from nearly a day to about four hours.

AI Shopping:

The company is also using AI to improve the shopping experience. Its AI-driven size and fit recommendation engine now applies to almost 85% of eligible apparel products, assisting shoppers in better understanding sizing and visualising how garments might fit different body types.

On the discovery side, Myntra is pushing AI beyond traditional search to offer contextual styling recommendations, allowing users to discover entire fashion looks instead of just products. Now, nearly 90% of the platform’s monthly active users receive AI-driven personalised search experiences, the report said.

Internally, AI is driving operational efficiency improvements across a number of business functions. AI-powered tools are helping with software development, testing and analytics processes and supply chain simulations that used to take up to two days now can be done in about an hour.

Despite the progress, Myntra executives acknowledged that fashion remains one of the most challenging categories for artificial intelligence, given that purchase decisions are highly visual, subjective and experience-driven. The company said it continues to track changing consumer behaviour as AI-powered shopping experiences evolve globally.
