The International Olympic Committee (IOC) in collaboration with the Abhinav Bindra Foundation and Reliance Foundation has rolled out the latest edition of its ‘Let’s Move’ initiative in India, to inspire young people to become more physically active through the inspiration of the Olympic movement.

It is being rolled out through the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) and builds on the success of previous editions that have reached out to over 20 million young people in India collectively.

The aim of this year's campaign is to get young people to take that first step into physical activity and to believe in themselves. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in India, 74% of children and adolescents aged 11-17 and 49% of adults are not meeting recommended activity levels, worsening the growing challenges to health and well-being.

The message of the campaign, “You Can Do This”, is about breaking down barriers like self-doubt which often prevent young people from taking part in sport and physical activity.

As part of the initiative, the Abhinav Bindra Foundation is working with the IOC and regional governments to expand the program to five territories- Odisha, Assam, Chandigarh, Telangana and Meghalaya. The campaign will reach out to about 4 million students with the programme including indoor sports, yoga sessions and classroom activities.

“The Olympic Values Education Programme, together with the Let’s Move campaign, has already empowered millions of young people in India through sport. This continues with an important message to the next generation: you can do this, you are capable, you are ready to make your moves,” said Abhinav Bindra, Olympic gold medallist and founder of the Abhinav Bindra Foundation.

The Reliance Foundation is also boosting its contribution to the programme. Since 2024, OVEP has touched over 338,000 students across 464 schools and Anganwadis in 16 states. The foundation plans to reach out to about 1,800 Anganwadis and 44,000 children through sports activities, games and movement-based sessions as part of this year’s Olympic Day celebrations.
