Love is Teamwork: Bumble Survey Reveals Shift in Festive Planning

Bumble's latest survey has unveiled a fascinating shift in how Indian couples approach festive season planning. A whopping 91% of respondents believe that equal contributions from both partners are crucial, signaling a departure from traditional gender roles.

While women have historically taken the lead in festive preparations, a significant 45% still feel burdened with the majority of the responsibility. However, a growing number of individuals are embracing a more equitable approach, where both partners actively participate in planning and executing festive activities.

This newfound emphasis on shared responsibilities is not just about dividing tasks; it's about fostering a stronger bond. Over half of the respondents (51%) are excited about the prospect of equally contributing to festive plans, viewing it as an excellent opportunity to connect and create lasting memories.

Bumble's survey also highlights the willingness of couples to adapt and adjust to each other's preferences. A significant 36% of respondents are open to equal contributions, recognizing that it may require some compromise and flexibility. This shift towards a more balanced partnership is a positive step, as it allows couples to create more personalized and meaningful festive experiences.

To celebrate the upcoming Diwali festivities, Bumble has launched a heartwarming film that captures the essence of shared responsibilities in relationships. The film showcases a couple navigating their first Diwali together, filled with relatable moments of humor and warmth. Their playful banter emphasizes the importance of both creating lasting memories and sharing the responsibilities that come with festive planning.

Pracheta Mazumdar, Bumble's Senior Marketing Manager for APAC, emphasized the importance of shared responsibilities in modern relationships. She stated, "As the festive season approaches and celebrations come alive, shared responsibilities are becoming increasingly important in relationships. Bumble's research shows that for 1 in 2 Indians, equality in managing festive tasks is a green flag."

Mazumdar further highlighted the significance of expressing one's values and preferences on a dating profile. She encouraged users to use Bumble's Opening Move feature or their profile bio to showcase their approach to relationships and their willingness to share responsibilities.

As the festive season unfolds, it's clear that love is no longer just about grand gestures and romantic surprises. It's about teamwork, compromise, and mutual respect. By embracing shared responsibilities, couples can strengthen their bond and create lasting memories that they will cherish for years to come.
