Burger King France Turns Pizza Night Into Burger Night With Football-Themed Campaign
Burger King France has launched a football-themed campaign featuring pizza-style boxes filled with Baby Burgers, aiming to tap into matchday ordering habits during the FIFA World Cup.
As football fans around the world prepare for the FIFA World Cup, Burger King France is seeking to tackle one of matchday’s most ingrained habits: ordering pizza.
The quick-service restaurant chain has kicked off a campaign grounded in a basic consumer insight that when consumers watch football, they tend to order pizza. Instead of trying to compete with that behaviour, Burger King has decided to embrace it. The fast-food chain has released limited-edition square boxes filled with its Baby Burgers.
The campaign was developed by Paris-based agency Buzzman and features pizza box-like packaging. The catch is that the boxes are actually full of Burger King’s Baby Burgers-miniature versions of the brand’s classic menu items, including the Whopper and Steakhouse and come complete with the playful “pizzaaaaaaa” branding.

Football Night Twist:
The campaign is promoting the offering as a group-ordering option for football viewing events, encouraging consumers to trade out traditional pizza deliveries for Burger King products.
The special edition boxes are available in France until 13 July and have been supported by a media rollout that has included TV, online video and social media since 8 June, with activity focused around selected matches in the tournament. Outdoor advertising is also scheduled to launch June 22.
Burger King has adopted a product-led approach linked to football viewing habits but rival McDonald's has gone the star-powered route for its World Cup campaign. The brand has enlisted football icons David Beckham, Lamine Yamal, Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho to endorse its tournament-themed campaign.

McDonald's will also be selling six limited-edition commemorative cups, with localised versions featuring domestic football stars, which will be sold along with meals from the host nations of Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The tournament is set to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
