According to reports, the update enhances video editing, image creation, music production and productivity workflows through upgrades to Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Freeform.

The latest release is aimed at simplifying content creation by automating repetitive tasks and improving interoperability between Apple's creative applications.

Final Cut Pro gets AI-powered editing tools

Final Cut Pro adds some AI-powered features that aim to make video editing easier. A major new feature is Generate Captions, which automatically transcribes spoken dialogue and places the subtitles right on the editing timeline. Customisation options include font, colour, animation and placement of captions.

Apple has also added Edit Detection, which analyses exported videos and rebuilds edit points, making it easier for editors to return to finished projects or repurpose existing footage.

Mac users gain access to more AI-powered tools including Auto Mask that finds people, clothes, hair, skies and foliage for selective editing. Other features exclusive to Mac include an improved Match Colour tool, Advanced Trimming, direct frame transfers to Pixelmator Pro, and new Creator Themes with multiple aspect ratios, dynamic titles and customisable backgrounds.

Pixelmator Pro integrated across Apple apps

Since buying Pixelmator Pro, Apple has increased the integration of the software into its creative ecosystem.

Users can now send frames from Final Cut Pro directly into Pixelmator Pro to edit thumbnails, posters or graphics, and have the updated files automatically synced back into their projects. Similar workflows are now supported in Keynote, Pages and Numbers, letting you edit embedded images without needing to export them manually.

Pixelmator Pro also includes AI image generation, a new Content Hub with premium graphics and illustrations, and natural language-based vector shape creation, enabling users to create reusable design elements from text prompts.

Logic Pro adds music production enhancements

Apple has also updated Logic Pro with new tools for music makers.

Chord ID has been upgraded to recognise more complex harmonies, including inversions and extended chords even from imperfect recordings, the company said.

The update also includes a new Producer Project based on Grammy-winning producer Khris Riddick-Tynes’ track Shoulda Never, giving users access to the multitrack recordings, MIDI files and production sessions to learn from and play with.

Other additions include a new granular sync mode in Alchemy, a Granular Alchemy Sound Pack and expanded Beat Breaker controls with new filter modes, panning and randomisation options.

The Keynote app now includes new presentation transitions, Pages adds Auto-Hyphenate and Show Invisibles on iPhone and iPad, and Numbers lets you colour-code or hide spreadsheet tabs.

Freeform will also get AI-generated shapes, Pixelmator, folders, Dark Mode and better Mac drawing support in addition to iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27.

Apple said the new Creator Studio capabilities are available immediately as a free update for existing subscribers.

The service is priced at ₹399 per month or ₹3,999 annually in India. Students and educators can subscribe for ₹199 per month or ₹1,999 per year. New users receive a one-month free trial, while eligible purchases of new Macs and select iPads include three months of Creator Studio at no additional cost.
