Netflix India Launches NextGen India Writers' Program
Netflix India has launched the NextGen India Writers' Program, a two-month initiative offering mentorship and workshops to emerging writers with up to three years of experience.
Netflix India has announced the launch of the NextGen India Writers' Program, bringing its global talent development initiative to the country for the first time as it seeks to find and nurture the next generation of Indian storytellers.
The program is searching for writers with distinct points of view who can take original ideas and turn them into series concepts for Netflix. With this, India becomes the third country to host the program after France and the Netherlands.
The initiative is part of Netflix’s ongoing commitment to support emerging creative voices in India, the company said. Earlier, the streaming platform has backed new talent with projects such as Shiv Rawail’s The Railway Men and Aryan Khan-led The Ba**ds of Bollywood. Also displayed was its upcoming project Operation Safed Sagar made by Abhijeet Singh Parmar, Kushal Srivastava, Oni Sen and Mehboob Pal Singh Brar.

Executive Speak:
Commenting on the launch, Monika Shergill, Vice President, Content, Netflix India, said, "Every great story begins with a writer. In a country as creatively rich and diverse as India, we know there are countless people with extraordinary stories to tell who simply haven't had the opportunity yet. The Netflix NextGen India Writers' Program is our way of discovering those voices early, investing in their potential, and giving them the space to develop their craft and bring their stories to life.
"We believe the next chapter of Indian entertainment will be shaped by bold new storytellers with fresh perspectives and distinctive voices. Because the next great Indian story could come from anywhere, and we can't wait to discover it."
