Star Sports has established a partnership with Airtel Digital TV and Tata Play to improve the Tata IPL experience for its subscribers. Star Sports, in collaboration with the main DTH providers, has introduced enhanced Dolby 'Atmos' experience and additional features that will alter the Tata IPL experience on linear television. The extra features are available for free to Tata IPL Star Sports subscribers on Airtel Digital TV and Tata Play. This year's Tata IPL began on March 31st.

Airtel Digital TV and Tata Play include extra feeds such as Quick Highlights, Critical Moments, and Statistical Feeds that can be accessed by pressing a button on the remote. Quick Highlights displays updated clips every few overs, whereas Key Moments displays snippets varying in length from 1 to 3 minutes. The Stats Feed, produced by ESPN Cricinfo, provides spectators with access to statistical data to keep them engaged during the contest. The new capabilities are available on all Airtel Digital TV and Tata Play SD and HD set-top boxes, and they are free for all Star Sports subscribers.
