JioStar, ICC Launch Campaign Ahead Of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026
JioStar and ICC have launched a marketing campaign ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 to boost engagement around women’s cricket and Team India.
Official broadcast and digital partner of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, JioStar, has partnered with the International Cricket Council (ICC) to launch an integrated marketing campaign to generate excitement and engagement ahead of the tournament.
Central to the campaign is a film that seeks to challenge perceptions of women’s cricket fandom. Passengers initially think the men's team is about to board, set aboard an aircraft waiting for 'world champions'. Then the women’s cricket team of India walks in and the scene changes. We see the difference in the passion of a young fan and the relatively subdued response of the others.
The campaign comes after the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 which had good viewership and attendance in India. The initiative by JioStar and the ICC is aimed at increasing fan engagement and support for the Indian women's cricket team in the run-up to the T20 World Cup.

Changing Fan Perceptions:
Commenting on the campaign, Siddharth Sharma, Head, Content, Sports, JioStar said, “This initiative is to break the perceptions that have long been associated with fandom and recognition in women’s cricket.
“After a historic ODI World Cup triumph, Team India have proved they are one of the world’s strongest teams. Our campaign is about addressing a subtle truth about fandom in India, contrasting old proclivities for traditional hero veneration with that of the unconditioned pride of a younger generation,” Sharma said.
“India’s women’s cricket team are world champions, and it’s time they are cheered on with the same fervour and belief reserved for any Team India side,” he added.
As part of the campaign, JioStar has also released a film for promotion featuring actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh. The film focuses on a podcast conversation and examines how younger audiences are starting to notice women cricketers alongside other sporting icons.
