Yoga Bar’s Ambitious Leap: From Energy Bars to Kids’ Nutrition on Path to Rs 1000 Crore Goal
Yoga Bar expands into kids’ nutrition, aiming for Rs 1000 crore growth within 2 years. Discover how the brand transforms India’s healthy snacking landscape.
Yoga Bar, a popular Indian brand in the healthy snacking space, recently ventured into the children's nutritional snacking segment. Co-founder and COO Suhasini Sampath is optimistic that this expansion will propel the Rs 200 crore brand toward a Rs 1000 crore valuation within the next 2-2.5 years. Founded in 2014 by sisters Suhasini and Anindita Sampath Kumar, Yoga Bar emerged at a time when the energy and protein bar market in India was still developing. Over the past eight years, the brand has grown significantly, cultivating a loyal consumer base looking for healthy snacking options.
Initially known for its energy and protein bars, Yoga Bar expanded its range to include muesli, peanut butter, whey protein, and gluten-free oats. The recent entry into the children’s segment aims to meet a demand for healthier, no-added-sugar alternatives for kids, particularly products without maida. Suhasini, a mother herself, was inspired to focus on children’s health products due to the lack of nutritious, sugar-free options in the market.
Yoga Bar operates under Sproutlife Foods, with Suhasini leading brand-building and business development initiatives, while Anindita oversees R&D, operations, and inventory. The sisters conceived the idea for Yoga Bar during their time in the U.S., inspired by the availability of convenient, nutritious snacks after yoga sessions. They initially launched with energy bars and gradually diversified based on consumer feedback, particularly around the need for healthy breakfast options.
A distinctive feature of Yoga Bar’s journey has been its commitment to quality and transparency, as the brand controls its own manufacturing to ensure strict standards. Transparency about ingredients has earned Yoga Bar consumer trust, aligning with a rising preference for natural, healthy foods in India.
