Rao also stressed that travelling does not necessarily require high spending and encouraged people to explore local destinations as a way to reduce stress and improve mental well-being.
The minister said the government plans to redevelop unused hotels and tourism-related land assets to improve visitor experiences and generate additional revenue from the tourism sector.
According to the Tourism Department, efforts will also focus on maintaining cleanliness and ensuring the availability of basic infrastructure and facilities across tourist locations in the state.
As part of its outreach strategy, the government is also preparing to launch a new awareness initiative titled “Prabhata Bheri.”
The campaign will use short films, skits, stage performances and traditional art forms to raise awareness around various social issues.
The Tourism Department additionally launched new official social media accounts across Instagram and Meta platforms during the event.
A promotional film titled “Timeless Telangana” was also screened, highlighting the state’s historical monuments, heritage architecture and traditional crafts including Kalamkari art.
The initiative reflects the growing use of influencer marketing and digital storytelling by state tourism departments as governments increasingly turn to social media-led promotion to drive tourism visibility and audience engagement.
For the tourism and marketing industries, the move highlights how cultural storytelling, creator collaborations and short-format digital content are becoming central tools in destination branding and regional tourism promotion.
