TCI Expands Road Safety Initiative to Schools With ‘Safe Safar Junior’ Campaign
TCI has expanded its Safe Safar initiative to schools with the launch of Safe Safar Junior and the #RoadSafetyHaiCoolFollowTheRule digital campaign to promote road safety among children.
Transport Corporation of India Limited (TCI) has taken its flagship road safety programme, TCI Safe Safar, to schools with the launch of TCI Safe Safar Junior, a programme to educate children on responsible road behaviour and build safer communities.
Also part of the initiative to make road safety education engaging and accessible for young audiences is #RoadSafetyHaiCoolFollowTheRule, a digital-first awareness campaign.
This campaign will feature a series of digital content pieces, interactive learning resources and storytelling-led videos to encourage children to understand and adopt safe road practices from an early age.

School Outreach:
The campaign knows that stories can change the minds of young people, so it uses popular cartoon characters and compelling storytelling to make the ideas of road safety easier for children to understand and to inspire them to change their behaviour for the better.
The launch is the next phase of TCI Safe Safar, taking it out of highways and communities and into classrooms. The company says TCI Safe Safar Junior has already contacted more than 157 schools, held over 172 awareness programmes, and engaged nearly 24,000 students and around 2,000 teachers across the country.
Commenting on the initiative, Rajkiran Kanagala, President and Chief Business Officer, TCI Group, said introducing road safety awareness at an early age can help build lifelong responsible habits.
"Road safety awareness is most effective when introduced early in life. Through TCI Safe Safar Junior, we aim to empower children with the knowledge and confidence to become responsible road users. By combining education with engaging and age-appropriate content, we hope to inspire safer habits that children can carry with them for life and share within their families and communities," he said.

Future Expansion:
Launched in 2019, TCI Safe Safar has been promoting responsible road behaviour through awareness drives, workshops, community engagement programmes and stakeholder outreach initiatives. The programme has travelled more than 80,000 kilometres across India and sensitised over 12 lakh people on road safety issues.
According to the company, the introduction of TCI Safe Safar Junior reflects its continued focus on building a culture of road safety by reaching children through school programmes, awareness sessions, digital content and community participation.
TCI said the #RoadSafetyHaiCoolFollowTheRule campaign is the first step in a broader initiative, with additional school engagement programmes, educational content and awareness activities planned in the coming months.
