Premium water brand CLEAR has launched ‘FakeSeFree’- a music led consumer awareness campaign to encourage people to adopt the habit of checking purchases before buying to identify and avoid counterfeit products.

The project is built around an original music video, designed to convey the message in a format that resonates with the audience. The campaign, the company said, aims to move the discussion around counterfeit products out of boardrooms and enforcement agencies and into mainstream culture.

Though the campaign was triggered by issues in the bottled water industry, it has been portrayed as a wider consumer awareness campaign that can be used for all types of products where lookalike branding, packaging and names make it difficult to tell the real products from the fakes.

Consumer Awareness:

The company says that purchases in the bottled water category are often made on the spur of the moment at places such as restaurants, retail stores, airports, railway stations and public events, where familiarity often plays a bigger role in influencing decisions than verification. The campaign CLEAR Premium Water wants to motivate consumers to pause, check and then purchase

The company said ‘FakeSeFree’ is designed to create lasting behaviour change, embedding the message into popular culture through music and performance, rather than treating awareness as a one-off communication.

“The responsibility of brands is far bigger than selling products,” commented Nayan Shah, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, CLEAR Premium Water on the initiative.

"At CLEAR Premium Water, we believe brands have a responsibility that extends beyond the products they sell. FakeSeFree reflects that belief. While the campaign draws inspiration from challenges within our industry, its message is relevant across categories," he said.

The campaign will be promoted across digital platforms as part of the company's efforts to encourage greater consumer awareness and informed purchasing decisions.
