Byju’s names Tynker’s Krishna Vedati as President

Tynker's co-founder and CEO, Vedati, will report to Byju Raveendran and be a member of the executive committee. Tynker is a BYJU'S enterprise.

Vedati will be succeeded as CEO of Tynker by Srinivas Mandyam, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, and Kelvin Chong, Co-Founder and Chief Architect, will now also serve as Chief Technology Officer. Tynker, the top K–12 creative coding platform, was purchased by BYJU'S in September as part of its U.S. expansion.

According to Byju Raveendran, co-founder and CEO of BYJU'S, "With more than 150 million users on our personalised learning platform, it is critical for us to put in place the leadership necessary to continue developing our businesses globally." Krishna is ideally prepared for this new position because of his great experience in commercial and consumer user growth as well as strategic brand collaborations.

Vedati will serve as a senior executive for the Americas in the newly created position of President of Global Development and Potential Initiatives for BYJU'S, where she will help drive topline revenue and user growth, partnerships with big brands, and the identification of strategic acquisitions. Vedati will also manage the addition of new integrated goods and services from the BYJU'S learning portfolio to the company's worldwide offering for students and teachers in Latin America, the United States, and Canada.

At Tynker, where he has held the positions of co-founder and chief technology officer from the company's founding, Srinivas Mandyam assumes the role of CEO. Mandyam has over 20 years of expertise in technical leadership, developing products and user-facing web services. He oversaw the engineering department for AT&T Interactive's Consumer Division in the past. Mandyam was a Co-Founder and CTO of Plusmo, an early-stage company that AT&T purchased in 2009.

At Tynker, where he previously held the positions of co-founder and chief architect, Kelvin Chong has been promoted to CTO. Chong has more than a decade of expertise developing scalable web systems and software for consumer sites and for a variety of smart consumer electronics, such as smartphones, multifunction printers, camcorders, and even the Sony Aibo.

As Srinivas and Kelvin transition into their new positions at Tynker, our newest portfolio firm, Raveendran said, "I am proud of the broad bench we have in our leadership ranks, enabling a seamless transfer."
