ALLEN Online Launches ‘Rise to the Top’ Series Featuring Student Stories With MS Dhoni
ALLEN Online launches Rise to the Top, a student conversation series featuring MS Dhoni and young achievers sharing their personal journeys beyond exam scores.
Education platform ALLEN Online has introduced a new digital conversation series titled Rise to the Top, designed to spotlight the personal journeys of high-achieving students across India. The series features candid discussions between students and former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni, focusing on ambition, resilience and the pressures that shape academic journeys. The first episode is now live on the platform’s YouTube channel.
Unlike conventional academic storytelling that focuses on rank, study schedules or exam scores, the series attempts to centre conversations around the human experiences behind student achievements. Dhoni leads the dialogue by drawing from his own experience of handling expectations and pressure, while allowing the students’ personal narratives to remain at the centre of the discussion.
The opening episode, titled Sapne Dekho, features two medical students whose journeys began in rural India. Sekh Galib Raza from Odisha and Arpita Ghosh from a remote village in West Bengal are now studying in government medical colleges after navigating academic challenges and personal obstacles.
For Arpita, the pursuit of medicine is closely tied to her family’s aspirations. Growing up in a village where higher education opportunities for girls are limited, she carries forward her father’s dream of seeing his daughter become a doctor. Her goal, she says, is to eventually return to her community as the first doctor from her village.
Galib’s ambition was shaped during childhood visits to a local hospital with his mother, where he observed the reassurance doctors offered to worried families. Despite facing personal health challenges and multiple attempts at competitive examinations, he continued pursuing the goal of studying medicine and eventually secured admission into a government medical college.
By highlighting stories such as these, the series reinforces a broader shift in education narratives—one that places equal importance on the emotional and social journeys behind academic milestones. Across India, success stories are increasingly emerging from smaller towns and rural regions, reflecting the expanding reach of educational opportunity and digital learning platforms.
Rakesh Ranjan, Chief Executive Officer of ALLEN Online, said the initiative aims to highlight the often-overlooked personal dimensions of academic success. “Students are often recognised only for their outcomes, while the journeys that shape them remain unheard. Rise to the Top was designed to bring those human stories forward. Having MS Dhoni lead these conversations brings a dimension of lived experience around handling pressure and expectation, which deepens the dialogue while keeping the focus firmly on the students.”
For ALLEN, the series also represents a broader content strategy shift within education platforms, where storytelling and mentorship formats are increasingly being used to build deeper engagement with students and parents. Instead of focusing purely on preparation strategies, these formats highlight perseverance, emotional resilience and support systems that shape academic outcomes.
With the expansion of online learning ecosystems, initiatives like Rise to the Top signal how education brands are attempting to humanise the competitive exam journey. By placing student voices alongside a public figure known for composure under pressure, the series aims to create conversations that resonate beyond exam preparation and reflect the broader aspirations of young learners across the country.
