She has been a part of NBCU for more than ten years and served as the company's chief of advertising. According to the company profile, Yaccarino supervised Global, National, and Local Ad Sales, Partnerships, Marketing, Ad Tech, Data, Measurement, and Strategic Initiatives. Her team has produced more than $100 billion in ad sales since she joined NBCU in 2011, and she was instrumental in the rollout of Peacock, the company's ad-supported streaming service. She was Executive Vice President/COO of Advertising Sales, Marketing, and Acquisitions at Turner before joining NBCU.
Yaccarino serves on the board of the Ad Council and as the executive chair of the World Economic Forum. She became a member of the Executive Committee of the Ad Council in 2015 after joining the board of directors in 2014.
Yaccarino spoke with Musk last month on a panel titled "Twitter 2.0: From Conversations to Partnerships" and inquired about who owns Twitter. She admitted she does not always agree with his tweets and that Musk should be "held to a different or higher standard" because he is the owner of the most popular Twitter account.
In her capacity as chair of the non-profit advertising group Ad Council, Yaccarino has worked with government organizations, the White House, and Pope Francis to produce a Covid-19 vaccination campaign. She was also appointed by former US President Donald Trump to the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.
