Apple Developing Business Caller ID to Fight Spam Calls
Apple introduces Business Caller ID to combat spam, allowing companies to register their identity across calls, messages, and emails on Apple devices.
Apple is reportedly working on a new caller ID service named “Business Caller ID” to combat spam calls and provide users with verified business information. This initiative is part of the Apple Business Connect platform, designed to give companies more control over their digital presence across Apple’s ecosystem.
Businesses can register on the platform with their name, logo, and department to ensure accurate information is displayed. David Dorn, Apple’s senior director of Internet Software and Services Product, explained, “We designed Business Connect to empower businesses to present the best, most accurate information to Apple users. With today’s updates, we’re helping even more businesses reach customers, build trust, and grow.”
This service will allow businesses—whether they operate physically or exclusively online—to create a unique digital identity. The same verified identity will appear across calls, messages, emails, Apple Maps, Messages, Siri, Wallet, and in select markets with Apple Pay integration.
The platform is accessible to businesses of any size, free of charge, using an existing Apple ID or by creating one. Apple users will start seeing the Business Caller ID feature across their devices starting early 2025, enhancing trust and reducing spam.
