Voiz Raises $2 Million In Funding Led By Omidyar Network To Help Companies Connect With Grey Collar Workers Grey-Collar Worker

Grey-collar worker recruitment startup VOIZ has received almost INR 15 Cr ($2 Mn) in seed funding from a number of investors, including Omidyar Network India. The money will be used by VOIZ to develop its technology, add more talent to the platform, and increase its market share.

According to Rajesh Bernard, cofounder and CEO of VOIZ, "In our next stage of expansion, we are thrilled to connect with Omidyar Network India. VOIZ thinks that the future of work for the grey-collared gig workforce arena is digital, remote, powered by gig, and enabled by gamification that can have a big social impact in hiring mobility-challenged workforce around the world."

The Bengaluru-based startup was founded by Rajesh Bernard, Vineet Patil, and Sandeep Nyamati to help businesses in finding grey-collar workers for a number of roles, including customer care, telecalling, sales, data entry, virtual assistance, and tech support, among others.

"We have a significant first-mover advantage in supplying quality and quantity because of our supply pool, which consists of more than 30 females. The job's ability to greatly scale is the next issue, and we are resolutely working on it. We appear to be at the right place at the right moment to cause disruption as the technology in this area matures over the next three to five years. VOIZ co-founder and CBO Vineet Patil remarked.

VOIZ claims that 3 Mn grey-collar individuals are expected to receive job possibilities through VOIZ over the course of the next five years. Apna and Able Jobs, two startups that specialise in hiring for grey-collar jobs, are VOIZ competitors.

The NITI Aayog research estimates that India's economy will employ 68 lakh gig workers by 2020. The number of gig workers is projected to reach 2.35 billion by 2030. According to a survey by Lightbox, the nation employs close to 300 million people in blue- and grey-collar jobs. On the other hand, white-collar employment in the nation accounts for about 15 to 20% of all professional employment.
