"I am thrilled to announce the Tata Group as the title sponsor of the inaugural #WPL," BCCI secretary Jay Shah tweeted. We are convinced that with their help, we can push women's cricket to the next level."

The BCCI issued tenders for the title rights in January of this year. The suggestions were to be submitted by February 11th.

Tata Group took over as title sponsor of the Indian Premier League from Vivo last year.

The WPL will begin on March 4 at the DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. The BCCI has sold five teams valued Rs 4670 crore.
