Mahindra Group has appointed former Unilever executive Purnima Lamba as Chief Brand Officer.
Mahindra Group has announced the appointment of Purnima Lamba as Chief Brand Officer, effective September 1, 2026.
In her new role, Lamba will lead the Group’s corporate brand and communications strategy, with responsibility for strengthening and shaping Mahindra’s overarching brand narrative in alignment with the company’s values, long-term vision and business objectives.
According to the company, she will also oversee initiatives focused on maintaining brand consistency across Mahindra Group’s various businesses while driving efforts to enhance the company’s presence across traditional and digital platforms.

Brand Leadership Move:
Commenting on the appointment, Anish Shah said the company was pleased to welcome Lamba into the leadership team.

Lamba joins Mahindra Group after a nearly 25-year career at Unilever, where she held multiple senior leadership positions across India, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Over the course of her career, she led brand-building and business transformation initiatives with a focus on consumer engagement, communication strategy and digital innovation.
According to the company, her experience includes developing technology-enabled beauty experiences and digital media models designed to strengthen brand visibility and expand market reach globally.
Lamba holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Management from London School of Economics and Political Science.
The company said her professional journey, spanning entrepreneurial beginnings to leadership roles across globally recognised beauty brands, reflects a combination of innovation, strategic thinking and cultural understanding.
The appointment reflects the increasing importance companies are placing on integrated brand leadership and corporate storytelling as businesses expand across multiple consumer and digital touchpoints.
