Swapnil Bajpai Takes Over As CEO Of Swiggy Dineout And Scenes
Swapnil Bajpai takes over as CEO of Swiggy Dineout and Scenes as the company expands its dining out and experiences strategy.
Swapnil Bajpai has stepped into a new leadership role at Swiggy, taking over as chief executive officer of its dining out business, Dineout, along with its experiences focused platform, Scenes. The move was announced by Bajpai in a LinkedIn post, marking a significant internal elevation at a time when the company is sharpening its focus beyond core food delivery.
Bajpai is not new to the ecosystem. He has spent close to seven years at Swiggy, working across business leadership, sales, supply, advertising, and monetisation. Over this period, he has been closely involved in building and scaling multiple revenue streams, especially in areas tied to restaurant partnerships and user engagement.
In his most recent role as senior vice president and business head for Dineout, Assure, and Lynk, Bajpai led growth initiatives and operational strategy across these verticals. His work also included strengthening partnerships and refining the monetisation playbook for both food delivery and dining out. Earlier, he handled advertising and monetisation functions, along with supply and sales, giving him a full stack view of the business.
His elevation comes at a time when Swiggy is pushing deeper into the dining out and experiences space. Platforms like Dineout and Scenes are expected to play a larger role in how the company engages users beyond transactions. This shift reflects a broader industry trend where food delivery platforms are expanding into lifestyle and discovery led offerings to drive higher frequency and stickiness.
For brands and restaurant partners, this signals a stronger push toward integrated marketing opportunities that go beyond discounts and listings. Experiences driven platforms can open up new formats for engagement, including events, curated outings, and premium dining moments. For consumers, it points to a more blended app experience where food, going out, and social discovery intersect.
Before joining Swiggy, Bajpai built his career in the FMCG sector. He worked at Reckitt as a regional sales manager and spent several years at Procter & Gamble across roles in sales, planning, and market strategy. That background in consumer behavior and distribution appears to align with Swiggy’s current push toward deeper engagement and diversified revenue streams.
