Amar Sinha to Exit Radico Khaitan After 10 Years as COO
Amar Sinha has announced his exit as COO of Radico Khaitan after a decade with the company. He reflected on regulatory shifts, brand expansion and growth during his tenure.
Amar Sinha has announced that he will step down from his role as Chief Operating Officer at Radico Khaitan Ltd, marking the end of a decade-long tenure with the Indian alco-beverage company.
In a LinkedIn post, Sinha reflected on his time in the industry, describing it as a defining phase shaped by regulatory changes, intense competition and shifting consumer expectations. He noted that during his leadership stint, Radico Khaitan sharpened its strategic focus, strengthened distribution networks and worked to elevate brand equity in a highly regulated and fragmented market.
Sinha has served as COO at Radico Khaitan since March 2017. During this period, the company expanded its presence across domestic markets while also pushing premiumisation across segments, a trend that has become central to growth strategies within India’s alco-beverage sector. He stated that the business today stands on a scalable platform with room for further domestic and international expansion.
He also acknowledged the support of Abhishek Khaitan, Managing Director of Radico Khaitan, crediting him for trust and backing throughout his journey at the company.
While Sinha did not disclose his next move, he indicated that details about his future plans will be shared in due course. In addition to his role at Radico Khaitan, he has been associated with Wave Industries as Executive Director.
For the alco-beverage industry, leadership transitions at the top level often signal strategic recalibrations. Over the past decade, the sector has navigated tighter compliance norms, state-level regulatory complexity and growing premium consumption in urban India. Companies have increasingly invested in brand building, distribution optimisation and portfolio diversification to balance volume growth with margin expansion.
Radico Khaitan, known for its presence across whisky, vodka and other spirits categories, has operated in a competitive environment dominated by legacy players and multinational brands. Strengthening brand equity and distribution depth has been critical in gaining share in both mass and premium segments.
From a marketing and distribution standpoint, Sinha’s tenure coincided with heightened focus on premium positioning, selective international expansion and improved supply chain capabilities. As consumer preferences continue to shift toward premium and experiential consumption, leadership continuity and strategic direction will remain central to sustaining growth.
His exit comes at a time when the Indian alco-beverage industry is exploring global ambitions while managing domestic regulatory variability. The next phase of leadership at Radico Khaitan will likely focus on scaling premium brands, expanding global footprint and navigating evolving state-level excise frameworks.
Sinha’s departure marks the close of a significant chapter for both the executive and the company, with the market now watching for succession announcements and the direction of his next move.
