Abhijat Marathi OTT Platform Unveiled At Cannes Film Festival 2026
Abhijat Marathi, a Marathi-focused OTT platform, was officially unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 to promote Marathi storytelling globally.
A new Marathi-focused OTT platform, Abhijat Marathi, was officially unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival, marking a major moment for Marathi entertainment and regional Indian storytelling on the international stage.
The unveiling took place at the Bharat Pavilion during Cannes 2026 and was led by Kedar Narahar Joshi, Founder and Owner of Abhijat Marathi.
Several personalities from the Marathi entertainment industry attended the launch event, including Ashok Saraf, Nivedita Saraf, Prajaktta Mali, Jayanti Waghdhare and Ankita Walawalkar.
Following the unveiling ceremony, the dignitaries also walked the Cannes red carpet.

Marathi Content Goes Global:
According to the company, Abhijat Marathi aims to create a dedicated platform for Marathi films, web series, music and culturally rooted storytelling while taking Maharashtra’s language, heritage and artistic talent to audiences across India and international markets.
Commenting on the launch, Joshi described the unveiling at Cannes as a proud moment for Marathi cinema and culture.
“The unveiling of Abhijat Marathi at Cannes 2026 is a proud moment for Marathi cinema and culture,” Joshi said.
He also acknowledged the support extended by the Government of Maharashtra toward the platform and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for granting Classical Language status to Marathi.
Joshi additionally thanked Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, former Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Marathi Language Minister Uday Samant for supporting initiatives promoting Maharashtra’s cultural identity globally.
“Through Abhijat Marathi, we hope to take authentic Marathi storytelling and talent to audiences across the world,” Joshi added.
According to the organisers, the unveiling reflects growing international interest in regional Indian content and highlights the expanding global visibility of Marathi entertainment across digital and streaming platforms.
The launch also underlines how regional-language OTT platforms are increasingly positioning themselves beyond domestic audiences as global demand rises for culturally specific storytelling and local-language entertainment content.
