Zepto Limited Conducts Mass Food Safety Training Under ‘Zepto Sankalp’ in Hyderabad
Zepto Limited held a ‘Zepto Sankalp’ training session in Hyderabad, teaching hundreds of food handlers about hygiene and safe food practices.
Hyderabad saw a strong push for safer food practices this week as Zepto Limited brought its flagship ‘Zepto Sankalp’ programme to the city, training hundreds of food handlers in essential hygiene and safety standards.
Held on April 28 at FTCCI, the mass food safety awareness session marked the expansion of Zepto Sankalp following its earlier edition in Mumbai. The programme brought together last-mile delivery partners and pickers, aiming to strengthen food safety knowledge across Zepto’s growing operations.

‘Zepto Sankalp’ Strengthens Food Safety:
The training was led by Food Safety Works and focused on key practices such as maintaining hygiene, ensuring proper food storage temperatures, and following compliance standards. These measures are considered critical for the safe delivery of essentials to customers.
Senior officials from the Office of the Commissioner of Food Safety, Government of Telangana, attended the event. Among them were Shri P. Murthy Raju, Assistant Food Controller, GHMC; Shri B. Laxmi Kanth, Gazetted Food Inspector; and Dr. Srivenaka, Food Safety Officer. Their presence highlighted the importance of collaboration between businesses and regulators in maintaining food safety standards.
Speaking at the event, Srinivas Reddy, Senior Director, Zonal Operations at Zepto, said that user trust depends on the assurance of quality and safety in every order. He added that the company remains committed to equipping its food handlers with the right knowledge and practices as the Zepto Sankalp programme expands to new cities.
Shri P. Murthy Raju noted that ensuring food safety is a shared responsibility, requiring awareness, consistent on-ground practices, and strong compliance. He said initiatives like Zepto Sankalp help improve hygiene standards and accountability across the ecosystem.
Sarika Agarwal, Managing Director of Food Safety Works, also emphasised the role of trained food handlers. She said such programmes build awareness, encourage responsibility, and contribute to safer food systems at scale.

Nationwide Food Safety Push:
The Hyderabad session is part of Zepto’s wider efforts to embed a culture of food safety across its operations. These efforts include internal audits, regular inspections, and close engagement with regulatory authorities.
So far, Zepto has trained more than 60,000 food handlers across the country, including over 4,000 partners certified under FOSTAC. Through Zepto Sankalp, the company aims to continue raising food safety standards while strengthening trust and improving customer experience in the quick commerce sector.
