WhatsApp introduces the privacy feature Chat Lock
A new Chat Lock feature for WhatsApp was unveiled by Mark Zuckerberg. When someone writes you when a chat is locked, the sender's name and the message's content will also be concealed. This feature enables you to password-protect your most private chats and keeps them in a different folder.
Users can hide their most private discussions behind Chat Lock's additional protection layer. When a chat is locked, the thread is removed from the inbox and placed in a secure folder that can only be opened with the device password or a biometric, such as a fingerprint. Additionally, it automatically hides that chat's content from notifications.
According to WhatsApp, this functionality will be fantastic for users who occasionally need to share their phones with family members or for those times when someone else is holding your phone just as a really meaningful chat arrives.
By pressing the name of a one-to-one or group conversation and choosing the lock option, users can lock a chat. Pull down your inbox gently to reveal these chats, then input your phone's password or biometric to access them.
Over the coming months, WhatsApp will expand the features of Chat Lock, including companion device lockdown and the ability to create a chat password that is distinct from the one used for their phone.
