Swiggy Introduces 'Swiggy Seal' to Ensure Food Hygiene Across India
Swiggy launches 'Swiggy Seal' program to enhance food hygiene and quality, expanding across 650 cities with audits and visible seals for compliant restaurants.
Swiggy has rolled out a new initiative called the 'Swiggy Seal' to promote higher food quality and hygiene standards among its restaurant partners across 650 cities in India. The program, launched initially in Pune, will expand to other cities from November, according to a PTI report.
The Swiggy Seal will be awarded to restaurants that demonstrate strong hygiene practices, proper cooking methods, and high-quality packaging. This badge will be visible on the restaurant’s menu page within the Swiggy app, assuring customers of the restaurant's commitment to hygiene.
"Since the program's launch two weeks ago, we’ve seen significant interest, with hundreds of restaurants requesting hygiene audits," Swiggy stated. "If any issues arise with a restaurant holding the Seal, we will thoroughly investigate and may revoke the badge if standards are not maintained."
Swiggy aims to help restaurant partners improve their hygiene practices by offering actionable insights and audits. The initiative focuses on key areas such as contamination prevention, optimal cooking practices, and improved packaging to ensure customers receive well-cooked, hygienic food.
This program reflects Swiggy's commitment to supporting restaurants in delivering better quality while enhancing trust among customers.
