Jubilant FoodWorks Signs Landmark Deal with Coca-Cola in India

Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd (JFL), the operator of popular quick-service restaurant chains like Domino's Pizza and Popeyes in India, has announced a major shift in its beverage partnership. The company has entered into a landmark agreement with The Coca-Cola Company to supply a range of sparkling beverages, including Thums Up, Sprite, and Fanta, at its outlets. This deal marks a significant departure from JFL's long-standing partnership with PepsiCo, which had been the supplier for Domino's outlets in India since 2018.

As part of this agreement, Coca-Cola's beverages will replace PepsiCo's drinks, such as Pepsi, Mountain Dew, 7Up, and Mirinda, in Domino's and Popeyes stores across India. Under the new partnership, JFL and Coca-Cola will also collaborate on joint marketing initiatives, aiming to boost the visibility of Coca-Cola's beverages and strengthen JFL’s position in the competitive market. A comprehensive master agreement is expected to be finalized by April 1, 2025, detailing the specifics of the collaboration.

JFL expressed excitement about the new partnership, stating, "We are excited to join hands with Coca-Cola India in this strategic partnership. This collaboration will enable us to offer an enhanced beverage experience to our customers and strengthen our value proposition across our restaurant network."

This move follows a recent financial investment by the Jubilant Bhartia Group, JFL’s parent company, in Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings Pvt. Ltd. (HCCHL). Earlier this month, Jubilant Beverages, a subsidiary of the group, acquired a 40% stake in HCCHL, Coca-Cola's largest bottling partner in India. This investment further cements the ties between JFL and Coca-Cola, creating opportunities for future growth.

JFL operates a diverse portfolio of quick-service restaurant brands in India and other international markets. In addition to Domino's and Popeyes, JFL holds the franchise rights for Dunkin' Donuts in India and operates brands like Hong's Kitchen and COFFY, a Turkish café brand.

This move to Coca-Cola's portfolio of beverages is a strategic decision by JFL, as it aligns with the company’s broader vision of enhancing the customer experience and driving long-term growth through strong partnerships. The shift to Coca-Cola’s offerings provides JFL with an opportunity to leverage Coca-Cola's powerful brand presence and marketing capabilities, further positioning the company as a leader in the quick-service restaurant sector.

With the transition to Coca-Cola’s beverage range, JFL is set to expand its reach, improve customer satisfaction, and continue innovating in the competitive restaurant industry. The collaboration also highlights the growing importance of strategic alliances in the dynamic food and beverage sector.
