Radio Mirchi 98.3 launches 'Seedhi Jalebiyan' in a grand premiere

Radio Mirchi has recently announced the launch of its latest afternoon radio program, 'Seedhi Jalebiyan.' Hosted by Mirchi RJs Dnyaneshwari and Megha, the show will air daily from 12 PM to 5 PM on 98.3 Mirchi.

Specifically tailored for male audiences, the show promises a unique perspective on subjects like men’s grooming and relationships. 'Seedhi Jalebiyan' aims to be a lively space offering fun banter, diverse viewpoints, and valuable insights for men, guided by expert opinions.

Discussing their approach, the duo shared, “Initially, we were skeptical about two female RJs hosting a show for men. But after thorough research, we found it intriguing. We decided to present the interesting concept of two women discussing various aspects of men's lives, offering diverse insights into their experiences.”

The show's tagline, 'Women Not Allowed,' led by two female hosts, is designed to captivate audiences' curiosity. Mirchi RJs Dnyaneshwari and Megha will navigate thought-provoking discussions focused solely on decoding male-centric themes, including the intricacies of relationships and bro-code. Additionally, intimacy expert Dr. Tanaya, aka Dr. Cuterus, will provide her insights into listeners' queries. The program will also offer expert advice on fitness and finance.

Receiving an overwhelming response, the RJs noted, “Listeners have actively engaged, sharing their stories. Our aim isn't just to provide advice but also to create an environment where listeners feel heard and connected. We intend to broaden the discussion spectrum beyond relationships, focusing on various aspects related to men.”

Mirchi has partnered with Mumbai Tiffin Boxes Suppliers Association and Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Boxes Suppliers Charity Trust to engage listeners by delivering personalized jalebi boxes across Mumbai. Listeners were urged to keep an eye on their lunchboxes for an exciting surprise treat.

The show's pre-launch witnessed celebrity endorsements from Vicky Kaushal, Emraan Hashmi, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Aamir Ali, and Sharad Kelkar. An exclusive soirée was hosted by Mirchi, inviting influencers like Suvrat Joshi, Zeeshan Khan, and Kashish Punder. It offered listeners a chance to interact with their favorite RJs and content creators.

Vishaal Sethia, National Content Director, ENIL, Mirchi, expressed excitement, stating, “We are delighted to introduce 'Seedhi Jalebiyan' in Mumbai. The tagline 'Women Not Allowed' is strategically aimed at men while engaging women listeners. The show aims to deliver entertaining yet relatable content, catering to our audience's interests.”

When discussing radio's evolution in today's digital era, the RJs acknowledged the challenges. “As Radio Jockeys, adapting to shrinking attention spans and on-demand entertainment is challenging. Radio remains a reliable companion, especially while working from home,” they added.

Reflecting on the changing landscape, they noted, “RJs were once celebrities; now, a social media presence is essential for retaining that status.”

The launch of 'Seedhi Jalebiyan' aims to redefine male-centric radio programming, promising engaging content and a fresh perspective on men's issues.
