Puma India and Bumble, the popular women-first dating app, are setting a fresh and active spin on Singles Day with a unique singles-only running event. This exciting partnership between the two brands will bring together young adults in Bengaluru on November 10, 2024, the day before Singles Day, giving them a chance to connect through their shared love for fitness and movement.
The event, targeting individuals aged 21–35, is planned to start at Nexus Koramangala Mall in Bengaluru and will cover a 3km running route, concluding with a social mixer. After the run, participants will have the opportunity to connect over shared interests, engage with other singles, and enjoy an inclusive, casual atmosphere for socializing.
According to Bumble’s recent survey, sports have increasingly become a popular basis for building connections among Millennials and Gen Z. Findings show that nearly 72% of single Indians are open to going on a sports-themed first date, and around 44% consider a lack of interest in sports a dealbreaker when it comes to dating. As sports-related activities grow in appeal, Bumble and Puma hope that the running event will provide a unique avenue for people to meet in an environment that aligns with their passions.
Karthik Balagopalan, managing director of Puma India, expressed excitement about the collaboration, saying, “We’re thrilled to join forces with Bumble to create a unique and engaging experience for India’s youth. At Puma India, we’re always looking for novel ways to connect with young consumers through the power of sport. This event provides a fantastic opportunity for people to come together and enjoy the energy and vibrancy of the running community.” He added that this event is a chance for singles to make new connections, experience the thrill of running, and make lasting memories.
On Bumble’s end, Pracheta Mazumdar, senior marketing manager for Bumble India, remarked that sports are now playing a growing role in the dating lives of young adults. “For many singles, a shared love of sports has become an essential factor in finding a partner. Rather than separating dating from their personal lives, young people today prefer dates that align with their interests and passions. We’re excited to partner with Puma to bring our community a relaxed, fun, and pressure-free way to connect.”

Mohit Joshi, CEO of Havas Media Network India, highlighted the partnership as a unique fusion of fitness and fun. “Puma and Bumble’s singles-only run is a fantastic mix of both brands’ ethos, offering an innovative way for singles to bond and build connections. This event not only captures the spirit of freshness but also emphasizes the human need for companionship in an energetic and welcoming environment.”
With the stage set for an exciting run in Bengaluru, the Puma-Bumble Singles Run promises to bring young adults an opportunity to meet new people, share a common interest, and celebrate Singles Day in a way that’s healthy, social, and impactful.
