Omnicom Media Group dominates 2024 with highest global growth, record billings, digital leadership, and client success across OMD, PHD, and Hearts & Science networks
Omnicom Media Group (OMG), the media services division of Omnicom, is set to close 2024 as the leader in global media growth and billings. According to the COMvergence Global & Regional Billings & Market Shares Projected 2024 report, OMG achieved an impressive 10.5% growth over its 2023 billings of $40.6 billion, adding $4.2 billion to reach a projected $44.8 billion for 2024.
Digital Leadership and Industry Recognition
OMG is expected to end the year with the highest share of digital billings among all media groups. This reflects the group’s ability to adapt and drive client transformation in the increasingly digital marketplace.
The COMvergence report marks the third recent industry assessment highlighting OMG's dominance. In November, Forrester’s Wave evaluation recognized OMG as a “Leader” among global media management groups, citing its transparent business practices, trustworthy relationships, and the robust Omni operating system for media and business intelligence.
Earlier, OMG was named the #1 global media group for new business in the COMvergence Global Media Agency New Business Barometer Q1-Q3 2024, securing $7.37 billion in new business and achieving the highest retention rate in its category at 85%. Major client wins and retentions included Amazon, Volkswagen Group, Unilever, Priceline, HanesBrands, and HP.
OMD’s Record-Setting Year
OMG’s largest agency, OMD, is projected to maintain its position as the world’s largest media agency, with 2024 billings of $25.9 billion, a 7.9% increase from 2023. This growth surpasses all other top-five agency networks. OMD also dominated the Effie Index as the highest-ranked media agency brand and earned Media Network of the Year honors at Cannes Lions.
CEO George Manas credited OMD's transformation into a marketing collaborator, co-creating next-gen solutions with clients to achieve immediate growth and sustainable competitive advantages. Key client wins for OMD in 2024 included Gap Inc, Michelin, Turkish Airlines, AliExpress, and MSC Cruises.
Sister Agencies Join Growth Momentum
PHD and Hearts & Science, OMG’s sister agencies, also reported growth across multiple regions, with PHD achieving growth in all four and Hearts & Science in three out of four.
