Cars24 has announced a strategic partnership with OpenAI to embed advanced artificial intelligence across its consumer journeys and internal operations, marking a deeper shift toward AI-led automotive transactions.

Unlike limited pilots or experimental integrations, the collaboration is positioned as a full-scale deployment. Cars24 is integrating OpenAI’s enterprise-grade models into vehicle discovery, customer support, sales processes, financing workflows and post-purchase engagement. The goal is to reduce friction across the entire lifecycle of buying, selling and owning a vehicle.

Automotive commerce remains operationally complex, involving multiple verification layers, pricing checks, documentation and high-consideration decisions. By embedding AI directly into core systems rather than layering automation tools on top, Cars24 aims to streamline workflows and shorten turnaround times.

The company has already begun using OpenAI’s Enterprise APIs and models across customer-facing and internal functions. According to Cars24, early deployments have resulted in a 50% increase in support resolution rates through AI-assisted troubleshooting and knowledge retrieval. Turnaround times across key service workflows have reportedly reduced by 80%. AI-powered outbound agents now handle around 20% of customer outreach conversations, aimed at improving response consistency and personalisation.

These systems are already operating at production scale. In addition, the Cars24 app is now live on the ChatGPT Store, allowing users to discover new and used vehicles through a conversational interface.

Internally, the company is rolling out ChatGPT Enterprise across its workforce. Early metrics suggest 85% daily active usage among employees. Teams across customer operations, engineering, product, marketing and analytics are using the tool to summarise operational cases, analyse datasets, accelerate coding and testing cycles, and prototype ideas more quickly. The stated objective is to compress decision-making timelines and increase execution velocity.

Vikram Chopra, CEO and Founder of Cars24, said automotive commerce requires more than incremental improvements. He described the partnership as an effort to make the underlying system more intelligent, reducing manual dependencies and improving operational consistency. He added that the collaboration is intended to build long-term infrastructure rather than short-term advantage.

The move reflects a broader industry trend in which digital commerce platforms are shifting from automation toward decision-support systems driven by AI. As marketplaces scale across geographies, maintaining consistency, speed and trust becomes more complex.
