Canva's New Campaign Showcases Creativity with Historical Twist

Visual communication platform Canva has unveiled its latest campaign, ‘Dil Se, Design Tak,’ in India, featuring a series of 12 short ad films. The centerpiece of the campaign is the ‘Hysterical Historical Café,’ a creative concept that has captured widespread attention online. This imaginative setting brings together historical figures facing modern-day challenges, cleverly illustrating the versatility of Canva’s tools.

Set in an offbeat café where different eras and civilizations intersect, the ad films depict iconic characters such as Christopher Columbus, the Wright Brothers, and a medieval knight using Canva’s features like Magic Eraser, Magic Design, and Magic Media. The humorous narrative highlights how Canva's innovative tools can be employed by anyone to achieve creative excellence in a fun and relatable way.

The campaign, created in collaboration with OML Entertainment, emphasizes Canva’s ease of use for a broad audience, from individual creators and small business owners to large enterprises. By showcasing how anyone, regardless of design expertise, can produce stunning visual content, Canva positions itself as the go-to platform for creative expression and seamless collaboration.

Chandrika Deb, Growth and Marketing Lead for Canva India, expressed excitement about the campaign, stating, “The ‘Hysterical Historical Café’ perfectly captures Canva’s mission to simplify visual communication. By blending humor with practicality, we’re highlighting Canva’s diverse use cases and empowering everyone in India to unleash their creativity.”

Manav Parekh, Senior Vice President & Executive Creative Director at Only Much Louder, praised the collaboration with Canva, noting the creative freedom that allowed them to push boundaries. The campaign reflects Canva’s commitment to making design accessible to everyone, from prehistoric figures to today’s internet users.

India has quickly become Canva’s fifth-largest market, with the platform experiencing significant growth in 2023. The ‘Dil Se, Design Tak’ campaign aims to resonate deeply with over 100 million active internet users across the country.
