Blinkit Launches Bistro: 10-Minute Food Delivery in Delhi-NCR

In an exciting move for food lovers, Blinkit, Zomato's quick-commerce platform, has unveiled its new 10-minute food delivery service, Bistro. Piloted in select Delhi-NCR pin codes, Bistro is designed to serve customers with meals, snacks, and beverages—including tea and coffee—in just 15 minutes.

The service, described as a "go-to destination for quick, delicious, and nutritious meals," marks Zomato’s second attempt at ultra-fast food delivery after the earlier shutdown of Zomato Instant.

This announcement coincides with rival Zepto’s plans to expand its food delivery business through its new app, Cafe, which processes an impressive 30,000 orders daily. Zepto Cafe made its debut in Mumbai in 2022, offering both branded pre-made food items and non-branded options. Similarly, Swiggy’s 10-minute quick service, Bolt, focuses on instant delivery but operates in collaboration with restaurants, unlike Bistro, which functions as an independent service.

Bistro offers a diverse menu of items like samosas, sandwiches, coffee, pastries, and other ready-to-eat meals. This makes it a direct competitor to both Zepto Cafe and Swiggy Bolt, tapping into the growing demand for quick, convenient food solutions.

Over the past few years, quick-commerce companies like Blinkit and Zepto have rapidly evolved. Initially focusing on grocery deliveries, they have now ventured into categories like apparel, footwear, and food services to diversify their revenue streams and explore new growth opportunities.

For Blinkit, Bistro adds another feather to its cap as part of Zomato’s house of brands, which already includes Zomato, District, Blinkit, and Hyperpure. This strategic move aims to cement Blinkit’s position as a leader in the fast-delivery segment.

As the demand for quick and reliable delivery services continues to surge, the introduction of Bistro marks a significant step in redefining how urban consumers experience food delivery. The ongoing competition in this space underscores a larger trend—food-tech companies are betting big on speed, convenience, and innovation to win over customers.
