Zepto Empowers Artisans by Delivering Handmade Diyas This Diwali

This Diwali, Zepto is spotlighting traditional craftsmanship by collaborating with 50 families from the Prajapati clan, a community of Kumhars (potters) renowned for their hand-crafted earthenware. For generations, these artisans have created earthen products that play a key role in Indian festivals.

Through this initiative, Zepto supports over 500 artisans in selling handmade products, including Ganesh and Durga idols, Marapacchi dolls, and Diwali Diyas, via its platform. Traditionally dependent on roadside stalls and door-to-door sales, these artisans now reach a wider audience with Zepto’s help, ensuring more dignified and efficient sales.

Pradeep Kumar, a Diya artisan, shared his gratitude: "We’ve been making Diyas since childhood, and Diwali is when our hard work shines. Zepto’s support this year has expanded our reach across India."

Zepto co-founder and CEO, Aadit Palicha, expressed on LinkedIn: “Empowering local entrepreneurs is part of our mission. We are honored to help artisans like Pradeep connect with millions this Diwali.”

This initiative bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern consumers, ensuring artisans thrive in a competitive market while preserving India’s rich cultural heritage.
