PUMA India Drops Playful Ad Film Featuring Ibrahim Ali Khan Pataudi
PUMA India launches vibrant ad film with Ibrahim Ali Khan, spotlighting the Palermo sneaker, celebrating friendship, street style, and India’s urban landscapes
PUMA India has released a lively new ad film featuring actor Ibrahim Ali Khan Pataudi, highlighting its iconic Palermo Sneaker. The light-hearted film brings together the young actor and rising content creators, capturing a spirited mix of street style, adventure, and friendship against the backdrop of Mumbai, Kolkata, and Shillong.
Actor Ayesha Kanga, known for her role in Netflix's Class and a Gen Z fashion figure, joins Ibrahim in the campaign. Both are seen sporting colorful variants from the expansive Palermo collection, each sneaker complementing the film’s carefree, urban vibe.
Set to the upbeat track Jeelo by music composer Achint Thakkar, the soundtrack enhances the film’s nostalgic feel with a playful twist on vintage ‘60s Bollywood music. The musical arrangement celebrates the carefree spirit of youth while taking viewers on a visual tour through India’s bustling cities.
The campaign’s narrative celebrates self-expression through fashion, highlighting how distinct street styles emerge in India’s multicultural landscape. Whether riding through scenic Shillong, exploring artistic Kolkata, or discovering Mumbai’s hidden gems, the film captures unfiltered moments of youthful spontaneity.
Reflecting on the experience, Ibrahim Ali Khan Pataudi expressed his excitement:
“Collaborating with PUMA has been an incredible journey. This film embodies streetwear, travel, and banter with friends. It’s all about those unfiltered moments of being yourself and embracing the energy of each city.”
The film coincides with the Palermo sneaker’s resurgence from PUMA’s archives. Originally rooted in 1980s UK terrace culture and named after the city of Palermo, the shoe represents sophistication infused with Italian elegance. Now, the Palermo sneaker returns with vibrant new energy, blending heritage with modern style.
Karthik Balagopalan, Managing Director of PUMA India, emphasized the cultural significance of the campaign:
“The Palermo sneaker makes a bold comeback, resonating with India’s cosmopolitan street style. Our collaboration with Ibrahim Ali Khan Pataudi goes beyond footwear—it tells a story of lifestyle and expression. Each city adds its unique flavor, making the Palermo a perfect fit for those embracing their individuality with contemporary flair.”
With its colorful sneakers and uplifting visuals, the ad film invites audiences to create their own moments of adventure and self-expression—just like the campaign’s youthful protagonists.
