JioCinema's Paris Olympics coverage includes curated India and women athletes feeds
The coverage will be available on the Sports18 Network and free on JioCinema, making it accessible to a wide audience
Viacom18, the official broadcast and digital partner for the Paris Olympics 2024, has announced an extensive coverage plan featuring 20 concurrent feeds and a star-studded lineup of Olympians. The coverage will be available across the Sports18 Network and for free on JioCinema, starting July 26.
The broadcaster's press release highlighted an impressive roster of former champions across various sports, aiming to deliver the most comprehensive Olympics presentation ever seen in India. Viacom18 also launched its campaign film, ‘Dum Laga Ke… Haisha’, promising an unprecedented Olympics experience.
“Our Paris 2024 presentation puts viewers front and center as our athletes aim for glory,” said Siddharth Sharma, Viacom18’s Sports Head of Content. For the first time in India, the Olympics presentation will include a dedicated Indian feed, a women athletes feed, and a global action feed, providing fans with a highly engaging experience.
The press note revealed that the coverage will feature 17 sport-specific feeds and three curated feeds, all in 4K. The curated feeds include an India feed available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, a Women Athletes feed exclusively following female Olympians, and a Global Action feed in English and Hindi.
Sports18’s linear platforms will offer focused feeds: Sports18 – 1, Sports18 – 1 HD, and Sports18 – 2 will present India-focused content, while Sports18 – 3 will showcase global action. The Games will be available in English, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
An immersive Opening Ceremony coverage will feature a dedicated camera feed on the India float, giving viewers a close-up view of the Indian contingent. Additionally, live interviews with the families of Indian medalists and expert analysis from the studio will enhance the viewing experience.
Notable sports personalities like Sakshi Malik, Vijender Singh, Sania Mirza, Somdev Devvarman, and others will join the studio lineup. Experts in various sports, including Viren Rasquinha, Parupalli Kashyap, Saurav Ghosal, and Atanu Das, will add depth to Viacom18’s coverage.
Viacom18’s campaign film, “Dum Laga Ke… Haisha!”, takes a fresh approach by intertwining the global impact of the Olympics with everyday Indian lives, aiming to inspire viewers across the country.
Shagun Seda, JioCinema’s Head of Brand and Creative Marketing, emphasized the campaign's focus on the transformative power of sports, aiming to ignite excitement for the Olympics nationwide. The film, produced in collaboration with Jugaad Motion Pictures, promises a rich audio-visual experience celebrating the Olympic spirit.
