Trivandrum Unites Advertisers and Media Pros with New ACT Initiative
Advertising Club Trivandrum (ACT) is transforming Kerala's media and advertising scene with collaboration, talent development, and creative initiatives for professionals.
In an exciting development for Kerala’s capital, Advertising Club Trivandrum (ACT) has been launched to foster collaboration among professionals from the advertising and media industry. This dynamic platform is dedicated to promoting knowledge-sharing, networking, and talent development, aiming to bolster the creative ecosystem in Trivandrum.
The initiative came to life during ACT’s first general body meeting on December 2, 2024, attended by nearly 100 professionals from the media and advertising sectors. The gathering also saw the election of the club’s office bearers. Laj Salam, CEO of PlainSpeak, was elected President, while Vishnu Vijay of Mathrubhumi took on the role of Secretary. Other key office bearers include Manikandan R.K. (Mangalam Daily) as Treasurer, B. Sunil (Kairali TV) as Vice President, and Thomas George (Stark Communications) as Joint Secretary.
In his address to the media, President Laj Salam expressed his excitement:
"The formation of Ad Club Trivandrum is a dream realised for many of us in the industry. Our mission is to create a platform where creativity meets collaboration, enabling professionals to connect, learn, and grow together. This is just the beginning of an exciting journey."
Secretary Vishnu Vijay echoed this enthusiasm, highlighting the collective vision behind ACT:

The club’s managing committee features prominent industry figures such as Krishnanunni (The Hindu), Krishnakumar (Malayala Manorama), Santosh Kumar (Mathrubhumi TV), Pradeep Prabhakar (News Malayalam), Geetha G. Nair (Hues Advertising), Thanseer (Adworld), and Pratheesh (Club FM). Additionally, an advisory board comprising senior media veterans like Koshy Abraham (Malayala Manorama), K.K. Joshy (The Hindu), R. Raghunath (Mediamate), Roy Mathew (Stark Communications), and Deepu S. (Asianet) has been established to guide the club’s initiatives.
ACT aims to strengthen Trivandrum’s advertising and media landscape by hosting events, workshops, and networking forums, ensuring growth opportunities for both seasoned professionals and newcomers.
