PVR INOX, India’s leading cinema exhibitor, has introduced a groundbreaking ticketing model called FLEXI Show. This innovative initiative lets moviegoers pay only for the time they watch a film, providing a level of flexibility and convenience never seen before in the cinema experience.
At the core of FLEXI Show is an AI-powered video analytics system that ensures smooth functionality. The process begins with scanning the ticket’s QR code at the box office, activating cameras within the auditorium. These cameras validate seat occupancy with 99% accuracy, identifying whether seats are occupied or vacant in real time. The system processes this data swiftly—within five seconds—offering an experience that feels seamless and intuitive.
The standout feature of FLEXI Show is its time-based refund system. If a viewer decides to leave mid-movie, they can reclaim a portion of their ticket price depending on how much of the film remains:
- 60% refund if more than 75% of the movie is left.
- 50% refund for 50-75% of the film remaining.
- 30% refund for 25-50% of the movie left.
This model ensures moviegoers never feel trapped into paying for a full ticket, offering an escape hatch for family emergencies, work commitments, or simply a change of plans.
Currently, the FLEXI Show pilot program is being tested in 40 cinemas across New Delhi and Gurgaon.
