Blinkit Lets Users Delete Order History for Enhanced Privacy

Zomato-owned Blinkit, a leading quick commerce platform, has rolled out an exciting new feature allowing users to delete orders from their purchase history. This update, aimed at enhancing user privacy, was announced by Albinder Dhindsa, co-founder and CEO of Blinkit. Since the feature launched last week, over 1,04,924 orders have already been deleted, reflecting strong user demand for more control over their transaction records. Dhindsa emphasized that this option caters to customers who prefer certain purchases not to appear in their order lists.

Blinkit clarified that once an order is deleted, it cannot be recovered, and customer support will not entertain any queries about such transactions. However, if an order was placed by another user, its details will still be accessible through their account.

This feature is part of Blinkit's ongoing effort to introduce customer-centric innovations. Over the past year, the platform has launched Bistro, a quick food delivery service, and introduced large-order fleets for bulk deliveries. The Blinkit Seller Hub, another addition, enables sellers to list their products on the platform. Moreover, Blinkit has expanded its offerings to include services like clothing and footwear returns and even the delivery of passport-sized photos on short notice.

The company has also extended its operations to Jammu, furthering Zomato’s vision of reaching more Tier II cities. Blinkit’s financial performance reflects its growing success, with revenue soaring to Rs 1,156 crore in the second quarter of FY25, more than double the Rs 505 crore earned during the same period last year. Its adjusted EBITDA loss also saw a significant improvement, narrowing to Rs 8 crore from Rs 125 crore the previous year.
