Ola Electric Welcomes Pritam Das Mohapatra as Compliance Officer

Bengaluru-based Ola Electric, a leader in the Indian EV market, has brought on board Pritam Das Mohapatra as its new company secretary and compliance officer, effective December 30, 2024. The move, approved by the board on the same day, follows a two-month gap since the resignation of the previous compliance officer. CEO Bhavish Aggarwal expressed optimism about Mohapatra’s appointment, emphasizing its importance for strengthening corporate governance as Ola Electric expands its market footprint.

Mohapatra, an associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, comes with a law degree and a bachelor’s degree in commerce. With over 14 years of experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, fundraising, and governance, he is well-equipped to handle the dynamic regulatory landscape. His prior roles include stints at Merabo Labs, ANI Technologies, Ola Fleet Technologies, and Zuari InfraWorld India Limited. Notably, he maintains no familial ties with Ola’s board, ensuring an independent and objective approach.

In his new role, Mohapatra will oversee compliance with SEBI regulations and other governing bodies. His expertise in corporate governance and IPO processes is seen as a crucial asset for Ola Electric, which has been focusing on maintaining strict regulatory standards. The company stated that his appointment adheres to all applicable guidelines, reflecting its commitment to transparency and responsible business practices.

This development comes amid recent leadership shifts at Ola Electric, including the departures of Chief Marketing Officer Anshul Khandelwal and Chief Technology and Product Officer Suvonil Chatterjee. Despite these changes, Ola Electric remains steadfast in building a leadership team aligned with its long-term growth ambitions.

With Mohapatra’s arrival, Ola Electric aims to further solidify its position as a transparent and innovative leader in India’s electric mobility market.
