Zomato has launched 'Breaking Bread,' a restaurant chat show series

Deepinder Goyal, Founder & CEO of Zomato, has launched a new campaign featuring a conversation show series. The Zomato Breaking Bread series involves restaurateurs as interviews and was recorded at the Zomato headquarters. It dives at numerous areas of the restaurant industry, such as the obstacles that restaurateurs encounter, their entrepreneurial journeys, new culinary inventions, and so on.

The first episode, which features Zorawar Kalra, Managing Director of Massive Restaurants, which includes Farzi Cafe, Louis Burger, and Pa Pa Ya, was released today on Zomato's official YouTube page. Zorawar Kalra, the son of famed chef and host of one of India's first food shows, Jiggs Kalra, is also recognized for hosting MasterChef India's fifth season.

In this episode, Zorawar Kalra, who recently opened Farzi Cafe in the United States, discusses his restaurant business path, noting that "when I was 12-13, I decided I am going to get into the restaurant business in some way, shape, or form." He expresses his undying love for Indian cuisine and his responsibility to carry it forward by "exporting our culture through our food."

During his chat with Deepinder, Zorawar Kalra also discusses his decision to transition from dining to delivery by launching Louis Burger during the pandemic – "I love burgers, and I never could find a good burger." But I never imagined I'd be able to build a restaurant on burgers. But what about a delivery kitchen?

Absolutely.” Kalra emphasizes the importance of food ordering and delivery systems such as Zomato, saying, "The system that you (Zomato) have built across 100s of cities across the country, I have an unlimited potential." All I have to do is open in a place where Zomato exists, and I can establish 4 or 5 kitchens with minimal cost and service a totally new audience — something I might not have decided to (do) through a dining restaurant due to the expenditure needed."

In addition to Zorawar Kalra, Zomato's chat show series will feature the promoters of some of India's most popular restaurants, including Biryani by Kilo (renowned for its freshly prepared dum-cooked handi biryanis, delivering across 45+ cities), Burgerama (a prominent made-for-delivery burger chain operating in multiple locations including Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, and Bangalore), and Bawarchi Restaurant (a famous Hyderabad eatery that sells more than 2000

Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato, stated, "At Zomato, we believe that our success is dependent on the success of our restaurant partners." This series is our way of sharing their remarkable stories, which we hope will inspire many new and aspiring restaurateurs."
