Wonderful Pistachios has launched its first international advertising campaign in India, aptly named The Better Nut. This initiative highlights the nutritional benefits of California pistachios, aiming to establish them as a guilt-free, protein-packed snack. Over the next three weeks, the campaign will showcase its vibrant messaging through billboards, newspapers, and Amazon promotions, targeting high-traffic areas in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru.

A striking visual centerpiece—an arm flexing its muscles made entirely of green pistachios—will catch the eyes of passersby. Select billboard sites will also feature giant 3D pistachio installations to further draw attention. Meanwhile, print ads in leading newspapers and an Amazon storefront with QR codes will streamline purchasing options, increasing the nuts' visibility among Indian consumers.

Diana Salsa, VP of Marketing at Wonderful Pistachios, expressed her excitement, stating that India is a dynamic market with a growing focus on healthy lifestyles. She noted that pistachio consumption in the country has doubled over the past six years due to increased awareness of their health benefits.

Research by Wonderful Pistachios underscores the rising demand for healthier snacks and plant-based protein. Findings reveal that 86% of Indian consumers actively seek protein in their diets, while 58% prioritize health over taste. With nuts being the second most popular snack in India, the campaign capitalizes on these insights to connect with the Indian audience.

The ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition also recommends including pistachios in a balanced diet as a source of plant protein. Just 28 grams of California pistachios provide 6 grams of protein, fiber, and unsaturated fats, making them ideal for mindful snacking.

Michael Perdigao, President of The Wonderful Agency, described the campaign as a way to simplify healthy snack choices through clean and impactful visuals. Harshada Menon and Siddhesh Khatavkar of DDB Mudra praised the collaboration for blending global consistency with local relevance.

This campaign is a joint effort by Wonderful Pistachios’ in-house team, DDB Mudra, and PHD India. With its engaging visuals and creative adaptations, The Better Nut campaign aims to inspire Indians to embrace the goodness of pistachios.
