Amazon Appoints Puneet Gupta as Director and Head of Devices India
Amazon has appointed Puneet Gupta as Director and Head of Devices India, where he will lead the company's AI-powered hardware portfolio, including Alexa, Fire TV and Kindle.

Puneet Gupta has been appointed Director and Head of Amazon Devices India, Amazon announced. Gupta returns to Amazon to lead the company’s AI-powered consumer devices business in India.
Gupta announced his new role in an update on his LinkedIn profile.
In his new role, Gupta will be responsible for Amazon’s devices portfolio in India, which includes Alexa-powered Echo smart speakers, Fire TV streaming devices and Kindle e-readers, while also leading the company’s AI-enabled hardware strategy in the market.
He joins Amazon from omnichannel home improvement platform IBO, where he was a founding team member and served in executive leadership roles as the company’s Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President.

Leadership Return:
Gupta is on his second tour of duty at Amazon India. In his previous stint of over 5 years, he was the Category Leader – Apparel. He was responsible for building and scaling consumer categories.
Gupta has over two decades of experience in retail, e-commerce and FMCG sectors.
Before IBO, he was Business Head for Men’s Fashion with Jabong and Deputy General Manager – Sales and Merchandising with Future Group’s Big Bazaar.

Before this, Gupta was associated with Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) and headed sales and marketing operations. He started his career as Assistant Manager – Production at ITC Limited.
He joins at a time when Amazon continues to expand its ecosystem of AI-powered devices in India, with a growing focus on connected home products, voice-enabled experiences and smart consumer electronics.
