IAMAI Appoints JioStar Sports CEO Ishan Chatterjee as Digital Entertainment Committee Chairman
IAMAI has appointed JioStar Sports CEO Ishan Chatterjee as Chairman of its Digital Entertainment Committee, succeeding Kiran Mani.
Ishan Chatterjee, CEO of JioStar Sports, has been elected as the Chairman of the Digital Entertainment Committee (DEC) of the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).
Chatterjee takes over from Kiran Mani, who finishes his term as chairman of the committee. Deepit Purkayastha, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Inshorts will continue to serve as Co-Chair of the committee.
Digital Entertainment Committee Industry stakeholders converge to discuss issues pertaining to India’s digital media & entertainment ecosystem- policy, innovation and industry growth.

Industry Vision:
Commenting on his appointment, Chatterjee said, “India's digital entertainment ecosystem has never been more dynamic, or more full of opportunity. The convergence of technology, creativity and evolving consumer behaviour is creating entirely new possibilities for storytelling, engagement and monetization.”
“Sustaining this momentum will require a collaborative environment where platforms, creators, brands and policymakers work together to encourage innovation, build trust and harness the potential of emerging technologies such as AI,” he added.

Chatterjee said consumers remain at the centre of the industry's evolution and continue to shape the way entertainment is created, distributed and experienced.
“I look forward to working with the industry to help unlock the next phase of growth and strengthen India's position as a leader in digital entertainment,” he said.
Chatterjee was the Chief Business Officer, Sports Revenue, SMB and Creators at JioStar Sports before taking over as the Chief Executive Officer in July 2025.
He was previously the Managing Director, YouTube India and has held leadership roles across Google, Google Play and McKinsey & Company.
