NBA's 'Jingle Hoops Regifted' Brings Back Classic Holiday Ad

The NBA has unveiled its festive campaign, Jingle Hoops Regifted, which revisits the popular 2013 Jingle Hoops commercial, offering a fresh animated twist. This new holiday-themed ad is now streaming across NBA’s social media platforms and app, with animated action figures of NBA stars showing off their signature moves to the classic Christmas tune Jingle Bells. The campaign reintroduces familiar faces like Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns), and LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), along with new players Luka Dončić (Dallas Mavericks) and Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics).

The ad features a playful twist as the players’ three-point shots are interrupted by fellow stars Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota Timberwolves), Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers), and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs). Together, they create a new, fun version of the melody. Along with the players, a toy figurine of ESPN’s Malika Andrews and a bobblehead of NBA on ABC’s Mike Breen make cameo appearances, adding commentary to the animated chaos. The ad brings a sense of nostalgia while introducing a new generation of stars to the holiday campaign.

The Jingle Hoops Regifted campaign, directed by Dave Scanlon and produced by Translation with live-action and animation by Passion Pictures, includes a 30-second main ad and four 10-second vignettes. It will be promoted across a variety of platforms, including out-of-home, digital, social, and audio media. The ad pays homage to the original Jingle Hoops commercial while introducing a lively mix of old and new stars, connecting fans with the festive season in a fun and energetic way.

The NBA’s annual holiday campaign has become a cherished tradition, and this year’s version continues that legacy with an updated approach, using animation to capture the excitement of basketball and the joy of Christmas. With stars from various teams and a vibrant soundtrack, the commercial highlights the league’s broad appeal while offering fans a heartwarming celebration of the season.
