WPP Expands Global Delivery Center in India, Appoints New MD
WPP strengthens its commitment to India with an expanded Global Delivery Centre, appointing Prashant Mehta as Managing Director to lead its global growth.
WPP has announced its continued investment in India by expanding its Global Delivery Centre (GDC), a specialist hub that will now be headquartered in the country. This move reflects the company's growing commitment to India, one of its fastest-growing markets. Following the recent unveiling of a new campus in Chennai—its third campus in India, after Mumbai and Gurugram—WPP is strengthening its Global Delivery Centre operations with a talented workforce, largely based in India.
The Global Delivery Centre plays a crucial role in WPP’s business transformation, offering services in areas like cloud modernization, hyper-personalization, VR and XR experiences, generative AI, and product engineering. These capabilities complement WPP’s existing expertise in media, content, customer experience (CX), commerce, technology, data, and design. The GDC helps WPP agency teams globally by providing access to specialist expertise and state-of-the-art technology.
Prashant Mehta, an experienced digital transformation expert, has been appointed as the Managing Director to lead the global expansion of the GDC. He brings with him extensive experience from Accenture, where he was responsible for generative AI-led asset strategy as the global managing director of Accenture Song. Before that, he worked as the global chief product and delivery officer for Dentsu Creative and Experience and served as group VP at Publicis Sapient.
Mark Read, CEO of WPP, emphasized that the Global Delivery Centre is a vital part of the company’s strategy, enabling agency teams to access top-tier specialist skills and capabilities, supported by WPP Open, an AI-driven operating system for marketing transformation. Read highlighted that the GDC is designed to fuel growth and simplify operations across the company’s services.
CVL Srinivas, WPP's country manager for India, expressed excitement about the GDC’s expansion and the appointment of Prashant Mehta. He noted that India’s deep talent pool positions it as an ideal location to support the evolving needs of WPP’s global clients. Srinivas said that the center would provide the company with the necessary scale to meet clients’ needs while delivering world-class services.
Prashant Mehta shared his enthusiasm for leading the Global Delivery Centre and stressed that the center is built to adapt to the ever-changing needs of clients. He emphasized the importance of AI and creativity in transforming how WPP delivers growth to its clients and expressed his commitment to leading the center towards the highest standards of excellence.
The expansion of the Global Delivery Centre in India marks a significant milestone for WPP as the company strengthens its capabilities in digital transformation, AI, and other cutting-edge technologies. By harnessing these advancements, WPP aims to provide its clients with innovative solutions and continue driving growth in its global operations.
