JioStar Promotes Prashant Khanna as Head of Sports: Rights, Innovation & Cricinfo Business Strengthening Leadership Team Across Sports Rights Management, Innovation & Digital Sports Operations

Khanna announced the move on LinkedIn, saying he will now head the JioStar sports rights business for both domestic and international properties and oversee the sports innovation initiatives and the Cricinfo business.

He will lead rights strategy, strategic partnerships, syndication, innovation and business growth, working in close collaboration with sports governing bodies, leagues and commercial partners.

Industry Experience:

Khanna has been with JioStar and its predecessor companies for almost nine years. Prior to his elevation, he was Head of Sports & Live Experiences Production Technology & Services, where he oversaw the production services for major sporting properties and led various initiatives around production technology and innovation.

Khanna is also the Production Contract Manager for the International Cricket Council (ICC) where he manages the delivery of world feed production for ICC global tournaments. He is also on the IPL World Feed Production Committee at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Before JioStar, Khanna has held several leadership roles at The Walt Disney Company, spanning production technology, operations, research and development, and broadcast innovation.

He has worked with NDTV, Turner Broadcasting System, Reliance MediaWorks, Encompass Digital Media and Qsport Media in broadcast operations, studio management and production technology.

The appointment follows JioStar further strengthening its sports business and expanding its capabilities across rights management, innovation and digital sports platforms.
