Financial data obtained by business intelligence platform Tofler shows that for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2021, gross sales from the sale of advertising space for internet giant Google India climbed by 21.36% to Rs 13,886.7 crore from Rs 11,442.3 crore.

The business compensated Google Asia Pacific Pte Ltd more than it did in the previous fiscal year. For the current fiscal year, advertisements will cost Rs. 12,262.2 crore.

For businesses wishing to market their products and services to consumers and business users online in India, Google acts as a third-party reseller of Google Adwords advertising space as well as other Google advertising products and services.

The company has invested $4.5 billion in Reliance's Jio Platforms and collaborated with Reliance Jio to jointly develop the entry-level smartphone JioPhone Next in an effort to improve internet penetration in India. It has also committed to spending $10 billion in India over the following five to seven years.

The business revealed revenue from the sale of advertising space and enterprise items on a net basis, along with any associated direct sales expenses. The company's net revenue from the sale of advertising space increased by 18.39%, from 1372.1 to 1624.5 crores.

Additionally, the revenue from sales of business products rose by 33% to Rs 606.6 crore from Rs 457.6 crore. In contrast to the previous fiscal year, the corporation paid Google Asia 540 crore rupees Pacific Pte Ltd. for the services related to enterprise goods.

The company's revenue from delivering information technology and related services decreased 5.17%, from Rs 1743.5 crore to Rs 1652.7 crore. Revenue from information technology services climbed 32% to Rs. 2913.3 crore from Rs. 2213.1 crore.

Google India's operational revenue increased by 16.2% from Rs. 5384.7 crore to Rs. 6257.1 crore. The company's revenue was comprised of 46.56% from IT services, 27.03% from advertising, and 26.41% from IT enabled services.

The overall income rose 14%, from Rs. 5603.3 crore to Rs. 6386.2 crore. Spending increased 19% from Rs. 4465 crore to Rs. 5297.4 crore. Total employee benefit expenses rose by 54% to Rs 3230.8 crore from the prior year. Advertising and promotional costs dropped from Rs. 427.7 crore to Rs. 132.8 crore, a 69% reduction.

The company's trade receivables went from Rs 3634.8 crore to Rs 3896.8 crore, a 7.2% increase. Trade receivables are generally interest-free and have maturities of 0 to 90 days, as was previously noted. Trade receivables' provision for doubtful debts was recognised at Rs. 134.4 crore as of March 2021 as compared to Rs. 132.6 crore.

Google India Digital Services, the company that houses the digital payment network Google Pay, has recorded a 2% increase in FY21 revenue to Rs 1467 crore from Rs 1498 crore in the previous year. The company's net profit rose from Rs 33 crore to Rs 53 crore, a 61% rise.

Google Payment India reported operational revenue of Rs 14.75 crore for the fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2021, up from Rs 4.69 crore the previous year. The firm, a division of Google USA, specialises in providing business support services to Google Asia Pacific Pte. The GAP is a division of Google Ireland Limited (GIL). For the fiscal year, it made a net profit of Rs. 1.41 crore as opposed to Rs. 45.65 lakh.
