Achha Kiya Insurance Liya: GIC’s Heartwarming New Campaign

General Insurance Council launches “Achha Kiya Insurance Liya” video series to boost insurance awareness with relatable stories and celebrity voices.

Achha Kiya Insurance Liya: GIC’s Heartwarming New Campaign

The General Insurance Council (GIC) of India has launched a unique and heartwarming campaign titled “Achha Kiya Insurance Liya”, aiming to make insurance a natural part of everyday conversations. With a creative twist and a powerful message, this campaign seeks to educate people across India about the importance of general insurance for health, vehicles, property, and livelihoods.

Making Insurance Relatable for Every Indian

Insurance is often seen as complicated or something only for emergencies. But the GIC wants to change that. Through “Achha Kiya Insurance Liya,” the council hopes to make insurance feel as normal and essential as talking about health, education, or investments. The campaign’s main goal is to increase awareness, especially in tier 3 towns and rural areas where non-life insurance is still not common.

Dr. Tapan Singhel, Chairman of the General Insurance Council and MD & CEO of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, explains,

“Achha Kiya Insurance Liya is not just a slogan, it’s a movement. We want to highlight insurance’s importance through relatable situations. When people are informed and engaged, they are empowered to protect what matters most.”

Storytelling with a Twist: Pets as Narrators

What truly sets this campaign apart is its storytelling style. Instead of using celebrities as the main faces, the campaign features everyday people—“the common man and woman”—and tells their stories from the perspective of their pets. From buffaloes and Indie dogs to cats and even fish, these animal narrators add a fresh and endearing perspective to the stories.

The campaign’s creative team at Lowe Lintas chose this approach to avoid fear-based messaging. Instead, they show people smiling through tough times because they had insurance to cover their losses. The message is simple: you can’t escape difficult times, but you can escape financial loss with the right insurance.

Sarvesh Raikar, President – Creative at Lowe Lintas, says,

“We wanted a timeless thought that resonates with every Indian. These are stories happening every day, observed by pets—our uncommon heroes. Helping these sweet creatures are some of India’s beloved voices.”

Star-Studded Voiceovers

While the pets are the stars, their voices are brought to life by some of India’s most beloved artists, including Ila Arun, Archana Puran Singh, Raghubir Yadav, Gopal Dutt, Brijendra Kala, Divya Dutta, Suresh Menon, and Farida Jalal. Their familiar voices make the stories even more engaging and memorable.

Reaching Every Corner of India

The campaign is being rolled out across TV, digital, print, radio, and outdoor platforms. To make sure the message reaches everyone, the campaign is available in 12 Indian languages and includes on-ground activations in over 200 rural and semi-urban towns. This multilingual, multi-channel approach ensures that the campaign connects with people from all walks of life, from big cities to the remotest villages.

Why This Campaign Stands Out

  • Relatable Stories: Real-life situations that anyone can connect with.
  • Unique Narration: Pets as storytellers, making the message warm and memorable.
  • Celebrity Voices: Famous voices add charm without overshadowing the message.
  • Wide Reach: Multilingual and multi-platform rollout ensures everyone gets the message.
  • Positive Tone: Focuses on relief and gratitude, not fear.

The Bigger Picture: Normalizing Insurance

India has one of the world’s lowest non-life insurance penetrations, especially outside big cities. By normalizing the idea of insurance and making it part of daily conversations, the GIC hopes to empower more people to protect their assets and loved ones. The “Achha Kiya Insurance Liya” campaign is a step towards a future where insurance is seen as a wise, everyday decision—one that brings peace of mind in tough times.

With its creative storytelling, celebrity voices, and focus on real-life benefits, the “Achha Kiya Insurance Liya” campaign is set to change how India thinks about insurance. It’s not just about selling policies—it’s about building a culture of protection and preparedness for every Indian household.
