Prasoon Joshi is the new brand ambassador for Uttarakhand
The CEO & CCO of McCann Worldgroup India has been chosen by the Uttarakhand government to serve as the state's brand ambassador.
The Uttarakhand government has named Prasoon Joshi, the CEO, and CCO of McCann Worldgroup India, the state’s brand ambassador. Joshi, a native of Uttarakhand, is a prominent and highly awarded member of the Indian advertising and media fraternity.
The statement was made last week on Twitter by Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand. The acclaimed poet, lyricist, and current chairperson of the Board of Film Certification, Shri Prasoon Joshi Ji, was described in his tweet as "the pride of Uttarakhand" and "our government has formally selected him as the brand ambassador of Uttarakhand."
Joshi's extensive background in art and literature will be advantageous to the state, Dhami continued. Joshi received the Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman award from the Dhami government earlier this month for his contributions to literature, art, culture, and advertising. In addition to the Uttarakhand Ratna, the Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman is one of the two highest civilian honors bestowed by the state for accomplishments in a variety of professions.
Sam Balsara, chairman of Madison World and a seasoned advertising executive, commented on Joshi's hiring by saying: "He is an accomplished guy and his accomplishments and interests transcend beyond advertising. He is also an indigenous son of Uttarakhand, hence he should be given this position.
The 51-year-old advertising legend has previously received several significant international honors, including Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2006. Additionally, in 2014, he was the first Asian to hold the prestigious position of jury president for the Titanium category at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity.
